Ski-centre Velebno is located in Baške Oštarije. Baške Oštarije is a settlement in the western part of the central Lika, 12 km from Karlobag. The length of the ski trails altogether makes 1,3 km. Beginners’ trail makes 500 meters, and a more demanding trail is 800 meters long. The ski resort disposes of ski lifts; Raskrižje, which is 700 m long, Ljubica, 350 m long, Sever, 200 m long.
Unfortunately, the ski resort is not equipped with the artificial snowing system. The ski trails are a little bit above 900 m. Near the ski trails a sledge run is arranged and ski equipment renting is also possible. The ski centre possesses canons for artificial snow, which makes it possible to prolong the skiing season. Baške Oštarije is a very attractive mountain place. By building a hotel, Velebno became a favourite destination for winter sport enthusiasts.
