Approximately 10 km away from the centre of Zagreb, as a part of park of nature Medvednica, there is its highest peak, Sljeme. Croatia’s capital Zagreb can be proud of its ski resort only 20 minutes ride away from the narrow city centre. On the ski trails of mountain Medvednica, their first ski steps on the path to the world ski glory were made by Croatia’s best skiers, Janica and Ivica Kostelić. The existing ski trails and cableways are mostly placed on the northern slopes of Medvednica.
Every skiing season a series of competitions is being held on the Sljeme’s trails among which the most popular and prestigious FIS races of World Ski Cup. For a light training, a family field trip or a few hours of night skiing, Sljeme is just as made for it.
