Heiligenblut is a picturesque village northwest of Lendorf on the border of Tyrol and Carinthia. Situated between two ravines in the steep gorges and looking directly at the highest peak and the Austrian National Park Grossglockner.

One reason why this place does not have a large number of trails and lifts is the limit with the National Park Hohe Tauern - the largest protected area in the Alps.

Half of the ski Hochfleiblut part Schareka occupy a protected nature reserve.
